The Oplomachia and to be more specific the fencing and swordsmanship, is an art that it is evolve with the passes of ages. This art is removing everything that has not use for the needs of era or it is changing names. At the following photos from the book of Nicolaos Pirgos (the book was published at 1872) who was fencing master and he teach the Royal Greek Military school, you are going to watch the guards of saber that are given to us at the present day with   different names and some there are out of use.
