The saber of general Antipa

This relic is come from the period of the King of Greeks George I of Greece, born Prince William of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg . The saber belongs to the general Antipa who serve the Royal Greek Army. Obviously he lived in the period of N.Pirgos the Metre Du Arms who was one of the the first Master of Arms of the Kingdom of Greece.
The saber has the heraldry of the King of Greeks on the guard, and on the blade have a miniature flag of Greece and an inscription ‘Defend the fatherland’.
The family of Antipa was one the ancient Byzantine families and they come from Kefalonia. This saber belongs now to the descendants of general Antipa who were students and distance kinsmen of the author.
